Mallory started her first day of "school" today. She's going to Mother's Day Out at First Presbyterian Church one day a week. Things went MUCH better than I could have ever expected. We've been doing a lot of landscaping work in the back yard. Mallory loves to be our little helper. She loves to be outside. Literally, the first thing that comes out of her mouth when she wakes up is, "I want to go outside."And then when we're outside, she says, "I help." She loves to water the flowers, dig in the flower bed, catch butterflies (and rocks) in her net, and play on her slide.

Nana & Poppa planned a fun "Safari Adventure" for Mallory today. They glued 2 toilet paper rolls together to make binoculars. (Mallory couldn't quite figure out how to use the binoculars. We spend a lot of weekends with our friends Jason & Susan, and their boys (Jacob & Sam). We love watching the kids interact and unwinding together. A couple pictures from my cousin's wedding. It was nice to see ALL SEVEN of Dad's brothers and sisters! I love it when the whole family gets together... Mom and Dad are such a cute couple! We had such a wonderful Christmas this year! We have so much to be thankful for. We are blessed with a wonderful family and baby that fills our hearts with joy. Mallory's first Christmas was fantastic! Our living room is FULL of all kinds of stuff for Mallory to play with. We already have too much stuff -- and she's not even 1 year old!

Mallory was a sunflower for Halloween this year. I had a hard time deciding between 3 different costumes (flower, cat, and red hot chilli pepper). Mallory seemed to like the costume. Actually, I don't think she even realized she was wearing a costume! It was warm and comfortable -- just like the PJs she wears. She's such a trooper!

Today is a big day...We found Mallory's first tooth starting to poke through this morning! It's her bottom left tooth. I don't have a picture--she won't hold still long enough--but you can feel the jagged edge through her gum, and if you look real close, you can see the very top of her tooth showing through. Poor little thing is hurting so bad!

Mallory is SIX month old now! A lot has changed in the past week. Mallory turned 6 months old. We introduce solid foods, found a tooth the next day, she learned to sit up (without any help) the NEXT day, and then found her 2nd tooth the NEXT day! Whew! I love this pink and green outfit.

Mallory had her first GIRLS ONLY trip last weekend. The Yeand girls get together every October in Brown County, IN. We always have such a great time! 14 of us shared a house on "the strip" in Brown County. We always look forward to our time together to shop, visit, and eat! We headed to Nashville this past weekend for Brian Wilborn & Jessica Poole's wedding. The reception was one of the nicest we've ever been to. It was gorgeous. Kevin & Andrea are in town with their new baby girl AnnaLee! We went to Arthur & Debbie's house for a cookout and some fun baby play time. Mallory and AnnaLee are only 2 months apart. Mallory had her 4 month checkup with Dr Yeiser today. She was given 5 immunizations today -- quite a traumatic event for such a little tyke! But she was very brave and handled it like a champ (she takes after her mother). Mallory can sit up (with a little help)! Poppa found a new use for the swimming float. Only my dad could come up with this ingenious idea to help Mallory keep her balance.

Mallory discovered her feet this weekend. She's grabbing at them every chance she gets! I love sitting and watching her play. She it learning to hold things (her black and white ring is her favorite), grab her feet, and laugh out loud! She amazes me more and more each day.

I don't know how it happened, but somehow Mallory managed to drop the pacifier out of her mouth and it happened to land on her TOE! I promise she got NO help from us on this. Can you see it?!? We've done a lot of traveling over the past 2 weeks. We've been out of town for 11 of the past 14 days. We traveled to Florida, Rough River, and Louisville. Mom, Dad, and Mallory are done traveling for a while. It feels good to be home, where we have everything we need. Maybe we can get back on a schedule before I go back to work on July 15th.

Thanks to Mike & Jan Martin, we were able to go to Rough River for a few days. Mom and Dad came too! We had such a great time soaking up the sun. Mallory really enjoyed her time in the water. It seems to relax her. Tootsie has also grown quite fond of Mallory's turtle float!

We went to Florida with the Raines family over July 4th. Mallory's first 10+ hour car ride was tough on our little 10 week old baby, who could barely hold up her head. Mallory loves to swim! As you can see from the pictures above, she is a little "startled" at first, but comes around and really enjoys the water while her Dad holds on to her tightly. We're getting some practice in for our Florida trip in a couple weeks.

Last night was a good night. Mallory made it 4 1/2 hours between feedings! It must be a gift from God. Wednesday, April 23rd, was our first night at home. During the night, Mallory started crying, so Andy took her out of the bassinet and laid her beside him.
